Global Settings tab fields

The following table provides a list of the fields available on the Global Settings tab along with a description of their functions.

Field
Definition
Uses Per Day
Daily uses can be used within various types of validation programs. (See the Salesware Validation document for details.) Set this field to the number of uses to load onto the pass on a daily basis. Daily uses are not accrued if they are not used each day. Instead, each passes daily uses field is reset to the number specified within this field each day.
Uses Per Week
Weekly uses can be used within various types of validation programs. (See the Salesware Validation document for details.) Set this field to the number of uses to load onto the pass on a weekly basis. Weekly uses are not accrued if they are not used each week. Instead, each passes weekly uses field is reset to the number specified within this field each week.
Day of week check boxes
Used to restrict the use of the pass to certain days of the week.
Times
Used to restrict the use of the pass to certain times of the day.
Enforce time part of start/end date
Used to start and expire the pass not only based on the start and end dates, but also the start and end times. For instance, a one year membership program has a start date of 01/01/2013 9:58:00 AM and an end date of 12/31/2013 9:58:00 AM. Leaving this box un-checked allows this pass to expire at midnight on 12/31/2013. Checking this box means that this pass expires at exactly 9:58:00 AM on 12/31/2013.
This box is typically checked when using Time Span in minutes – not days – to establish the valid date/time range for the pass. It is used most often when configuring access record programs such as two Hour Tickets as opposed to pass programs which are typically good through a date range.
Black Out Dates
Used to prevent pass use during certain date ranges.
Layout
Specifies the Graphic layout to be used for this pass.
Prefer
Specifies the printer to always use for printing passes of this type. By inserting a printer name on this dialog, the operator does not have to select a pass printer from the Windows printer dialog when printing passes out of SysManager or from the Sales Pass Printing dialog when None is specified as the pass printer on the Sales > Tools > Sales Pt Setup > Printing dialog.
Warning: Only use this when the pass always goes to the printer specified. If there is a need to prevent the printing of passes at Finalize in Sales (for instance – if a guest photo must still be taken) or if an alternative printer is selected at times, leave this field empty.
Revenue Recognition Rule

Create check point log entry when validating
Generates a record in the checkpoint table when the pass is validated. This table is used to generate current occupancy counts between sets of entrance and exit points as well as being used in other programs that record “times” for guests between an entrance and exit point on a trail.
Allow “on-the-fly” discounting

Sales Screen action to execute when this item is validated
Used to automate the application of specials to items in a sale with the swipe/scan of the pass. Uses the macro SELECTIVESPECIAL() and GLOBALSPECIAL() to apply both global and non-global specials to items within a sale. Can also specify whether or not to check if the pass has been voided or if the pass has expired in order to stop guests or employees who no longer own a valid pass from receiving discounts. See How to guide: Discount card configuration for details.
