Line item lookup
At times, members do not carry their actual membership card. In the past we accommodated this behavior by offering the Pass Discount feature to mimic “swipe discounts” on a sale, but it is still difficult to perform line item validation without the card. This became a tedious process for operators.
In order to simplify this process, a new button has been added to the Pass Validate tab which is labeled Lookup Guest. When selected, a list of guests already attached to items are displayed with a Lookup option to search for a different guest. If no guests are on the sale, Lookup is displayed by default. Once a guest has been selected from the list of possible matches, a list of active passes (not voided and not expired) for the guest and passes /membership owned by the Primary (parent) guest are presented for selection to use for validation on the line item, with normal cascading validation occurring if necessary, just as if the operator had swiped, scanned or typed the number into the Validate box.
In order to accommodate clients who have a business practice of creating guest records for all family members, and then linking all members to a Primary (parent) guest record, the ability to display passes/memberships owned by the selected guest AND passes/memberships owned by the guest’s parent has been added.
This allows a primary/parent guest record to “own” the pass/membership, while adding in the convenience of looking up any linked guest record in order to locate the parent/primary guest membership and use it for validation. In order to help the operator know who owns what pass, as there could be multiple passes owned by two different guests in this scenario, the list of non-voided/non-expired passes display the name of the guest who owns the pass, in addition to the Pass number, Additional number (if enabled) Start, Expires, Status and Pass Item information.
