Notifications
It’s possible to notify a salespoint operator with an entered message or have someone emailed with the message when a guest is entered on a line item, in a Reservation Header or when a guest pass is used for validation and the sale is saved or finalized. It is also possible to have someone emailed when a guest’s pass is scanned with ScanMan or Gatekeeper modules; it is noted that when a pass is scanned with ScanMan or Gatekeeper modules, the operator is not notified. In order for notification to occur the guest must have the notification fields configured in their guest record. In SysManager, notification is configured on the Notify tab of the guest record. In Sales configuration is done in Guest Lookup > Notify, just under the CC-Swipe button. There is security on both notification configuration locations, in SysManager, Guests - Allow Access To Notify tab and in Sales, Allow Editing Of Guest Notification Messages. In each of the configuration locations there are three possible entries:
• Guest Notification Message (must be entered for notification to take place)
• Notify Until (date when notification stops/if left empty there is no expiration)
• Notify Salespoint Operator (check to notify the salespoint operator)
If an email is to be sent the notification(s) must be configured in SysManager > System Lists > Notifications. There are five possible notifications that can be configured, Notify Guest On Sale, Notify Guest On Reservation, Notify Guest Validated At Salespoint, Notify Guest Validated At Scanner/Gate and Notify Guest Subsequent Validated. The operator to be emailed must have an email address entered in the Notifications tab of the Operator record.
