Data maintenance utilities are only useful if you have exclusive use of the selected database tables during the process. The only safe way to ensure this is if you are the only one accessing the data – therefore, before attempting data maintenance tasks, ensure that everyone is out of SysManager and that all instances of Pool Service are shut down. The best time to perform data maintenance tasks is at night when no one else is using the system.
