Activity/Facility Scheduling : Overview

Overview

The Activity/Facility Scheduling module provides an easy, quick and efficient way to create and track the scheduling of scarce resources. The intuitive graphic interface displays information in an easy-to-understand format that allows operators to schedule scarce resources quickly and efficiently.
This document covers the use of the Activity/Facility Scheduling module in the ski school booking environment. However, the system is flexible enough to be applied to other situations. It is assumed that the reader has a basic understanding of the use and configuration of Salesware, including product configuration, station setup, system architecture and all basic Sales concepts.
Separate functionality exists for both group booking (pods) and private booking (privates). Private booking is covered in Salesware Private Instruction.

Note: “Pods” is a short-hand way of referring to the Activity/Facility Scheduling module; “privates” is a short-hand way of referring to the Private Instruction module.

Activity/Facility Scheduling module can handle group bookings with flexibility and efficiency. All aspects of booking are precisely tracked. A broad selection of reports that produce both financial and marketing data are available. Data generated by the Facility/Scheduling module is shared so that all sales data, including information about passes, comes out on the same set of reports.
The primary component of the Activity/Facility Scheduling module is the booking schedule. This is a flexible, graphic representation of a calendar that can be viewed and manipulated in a variety of ways. Placing a booking on the schedule involves selling a product that requires the reservation of a time slot, entering a guest’s personal information and preferences, and then booking the actual item. A great deal of flexibility is allowed in order to address the inherent problems in the process of managing scarce resources.
