Organizing your data is perhaps the most important step of setting up the Activities/Facility Scheduling module, as it is the foundation upon which the ease and utility of all future operations depends. This section summarizes the types of data to be collected for the Activities/Facility Scheduling module and familiarizes you with some of the important issues involved in organizing your data.
What goes into your system defines what can come out of your system. Your data should be organized in a way that corresponds to the output you desire. A good place to start is with the people in management and marketing. What sorts of information would they like to collect from this system? How would they like it organized? If you become familiar with these requirements, it can drive how the data is organized from the beginning. Does marketing want to know how many brown-eyed people booked group lessons on rainy days in March? Organize your data accordingly.
