Entering lesson types
Lesson types are described above in
Lesson types.
To enter lesson types:
1. Go to SysManager > Activities > Lesson Lists > Lesson Types.
2. Click the New button and the Lesson Type dialog is displayed.
3. On the General tab, enter an up-to-twenty five-character description of this Lesson Type; this displays in the booking bar when bookings of this type are booked.
4. Select a Category that applies to bookings of this type.
Note: Category is another way to group bookings for reporting, assigning Max4Sale limits (see
Max4Sale) or for calculating payroll. Possible choices include:
• Blank - One might use this Category type for Lesson Types only booked through SysManager.
• P - Private booking Category for grouping private Lesson Types.
• G - Group booking Category for grouping group Lesson Types.
• O - An additional Category for grouping Lesson Types.
The only difference between a group and private Lesson Type is that for groups, you would select G here. For privates, you would select P.
5. To edit Max4Sale limits on the chosen lesson Category, click the Category Max4Sale button.
Note: Max4Sale limits can be defined by category, lesson type or location - see
Max4Sale.
6. Select whether events of this Lesson Type that are planned or scheduled.
7. Choose a background Color for the booking bar that denotes the Lesson Type in the schedule.
Note: The color of the text in the bar denotes the location of the booking. If the location and the Lesson Type both have the same color chosen, the booking bar in the schedule shows up as white letters on black background bar. Carefully choose colors so they do not conflict.
Note: If a Lesson Type color is changed after the Lesson Type has been scheduled, only those bookings scheduled after the change use the new color. The previously scheduled bookings remain the original color.
8. To edit Max4Sale limits on this Lesson Type, click the Lesson Type Max4Sale button.
9. Use the Allow users to block time check box to specify whether or not a Scheduled Lesson Type can be scheduled through SysManager or the Sales Sched button.
10. Click the Save button to save the record.
