FileSync : Using FileSync : FileSync configuration : Online status of FileSync

Online status of FileSync

FileSync is only ready when the registry values for Data show Ready = TRUE and the Status on FileSync shows as Ready. If you try to start Sales before the shared data is ready, a message displays informing you that the shared data is not ready and that Sales cannot start.
In Food Service, all salespoints use the shared data and Sales reads/writes to the shared data. The only tables not shared are the local-only tables (e.g., printing, max_keys, alltrans, etc.) and the sales_pt table. All other tables are shared among all salespoints with a common SharedDataPath.
In Food Service, even when Sales is online with SalesEZ, it only reads/writes to the shared data. FileSync is used to do the forward/update process to SalesEZ.
In Food Service, when operating off-line (FileSync loses its connection to SalesEZ), you are able to Save/Recall tables, but operations that require connectivity to SalesEZ are not available (e.g., item validation, In-House Cards payments, etc.).
