Entering lesson locations
 
Lesson locations are areas where bookings occur and must be defined in order to sell Private Instruction products.
 
Note: Lesson locations are optional.
 
Note: Lesson locations are not defined for group booking – location is instead handled through pods. See Salesware Activity/Facility Scheduling.
 
To define lesson locations:
1. Go to SysManager > Activities > Lesson Lists > Lesson Locations.
2. From the Lesson Locations dialog, select the base that you want to set up lesson locations for using the dropdown list.
3. From the Lesson Locations dialog, click the New button. On the Location dialog, enter a ten character-or-less nickname for the location in the Location ID field.
 
Note: This field is automatically forced to uppercase. Create a plan before entering these so that these nicknames are consistent across products. This nickname can be coded to allow for complex sorting for reports based on the contents of this field.
 
4. In the Description field, enter a twenty-five character-or-less description of this Location for display in the lesson locations field.
5. Choose a color for the text in the booking bar that denotes a booking in this Location (the color of the bar itself denotes the lesson type).
 
Note: The default Location color is black. If the Location and the lesson type both have the same color chosen, the booking bar in the schedule shows up as white letters on a black background bar. Carefully choose colors so they do not conflict.
 
Note: If a lesson type is assigned a different color after it has been used to schedule instructor time through the schedule, only the bars inserted after the color change become the new color, the formerly booked bars stay the same color.
 
6. Click the Lesson Location Max4sale button to access the Max4Sale Lesson Location: grid to add, edit and delete Max4Sale limits at the location level.
 
Note: If there is a Max4Sale limit set for the Lesson Location and for the product that is being booked, the product’s Max4Sale limit predominates.
 
Note: You can require that a Lesson Location preference be entered when booking a private booking. See User must select a location.
