Private Instruction products
In order to sell a private booking, a booking product must be set up in SysManager, and then added to the item tree. This process is identical to setting up any other kind of product (see the Salesware User Guide for Beginning Users for basic information about setting up items), except that special selections need to be made on the Action tab of the Item dialog when the product is defined. The following instructions are written based on the assumption that you know how to create basic items.
A Private Instruction item is any product with guest information associated with it that needs to be scheduled with an instructor. Booking items are unique in that:
• Information is collected about who is purchasing the product for future sales.
• The booking must be scheduled.
Note: You must completely configure a booking item, sell it and schedule a booking to test it in the system before actually selling someone a booking for that particular product. This is the only way to ensure that bookings of this type work properly.
To create a private booking product:
1. In SysManager, add the Department and Category for the booking item.
2. Create the booking item as any other basic product.
3. On the Restrictions tab on the Item dialog, enter the Min Age for a person to qualify to buy this product.
4. Enter a Max Age for a person to qualify to buy this product.
5. Check Enforce Max4Sale if you would like to set Max4Sale limits on this product.
Note: You can also set Max4Sale limits by lesson location, type and category (see
Max4Sale). Check your Max4Sale limits to make sure they do not conflict. For more information about Max4Sale limits on products, see the
Salesware User Guide for Beginning Users.
