How instructors are filtered/sorted
Note: The instructors that are displayed here and how they are ordered is dependent on how well they meet the Guest preferences, their availability and their rotation group status.
The list of instructors that fits the preferences for this booking is presented in order of closest match to preferences and order of priority. Double-click an instructor name to get instructor information.
Note: Preferences have priority over rotation groups. If two instructors are equally preferred, the one with higher rotation is listed first.
Instructors in the instructor list are filtered/sorted based on the following principles:
• If a Guest preference is required, the list is filtered to include only instructors who match the required field(s).
• If an instructor is requested by a Guest, that instructor goes to the top of the list regardless of how well the instructor matches the Guest’s other preferences.
• The list is sorted by how many of the Guest preferences set to preferred are met. For example, if a Guest has three preferred preferences, instructors meeting all three preferences go to the top of the list, those meeting two follow next, etc.
• These rules all apply before instructor priority groups come into play.
• Priority groups are used as tie-breakers when the rules above are not enough.
• Within the groupings set above, instructors rotate based on priority group. Instructors in the highest numbered priority group are bumped to the top within the grouping described above.
• Priority groups never rotate—instructors rotate only within priority groups. If you put each Instructor in his own priority group, you set up an order that remains static.
• In most circumstances, instructors who have been employed the longest end up in higher numbered priority groups so that they have priority treatment and are more likely to be booked.
• If all of the above is not enough to break the tie, the Private Instruction module relies on priority within group.
