The Rentals environment includes Self Entry stations, Rental TechStations (TechStationPC or TechStationPPC), salespoints and either a combined web/rental server or separate web and rental servers. The following diagram shows separate web and rental servers.

 

 

A separate web server is used when your Rentals installation is sharing a single ww.dll with the E-Commerce module or there are a large number of Self Entry stations in use. The operating system selected for the web server can have a dramatic impact on the number of Self Entry stations that can be used.
