Rentals salespoint
A Rentals salespoint connects to three applications: SalesEZ, RentEZ and the SE directory (if you are using Self Entry module), where it fetches .se files. A Rentals salespoint maintains local data as usual. If the rental shop loses connection to the Middleware, salespoint operations are not affected. Salespoints use SalesEZ application only to forward financial data to the SiriusSQL database. The connection to RentEZ application is not affected because RentEZ runs on the Rentals server, not the Middleware server. When the connection to the Middleware is restored, salespoints forward the local financial data they have accumulated while making offline sales to the SiriusSQL database.
When a guest enters his information at a Self Entry station, an.se file (record) is written to the SE directory by ww.dll. A web.config variable (DataFilePath) specifies where the SE files are written (location of the SE directory). A Sales32c.INI setting (SelfEntryPath) is used to point salespoints to the SE directory. A macro (CheckSelfEntry()) is used with a Rentals item to cause a Rentals salespoint to read the files in the SE directory when selling the item, in order to attach a guest (created at a Self Entry station) to the item.
