Self Entry pages
Use of Self Entry stations with the Rentals module is optional. If Self Entry stations are not used (or if the Self Entry stations go offline), operators enter the guest information at salespoints. Self Entry module can be used with items other than Rentals items. Self Entry module is usually installed on the Rentals server, but it can also be installed on a separate web server. Self Entry pages (installed using the Self_Entry_Pages_xxxx.exe file) are very similar technically to Salesware E-Commerce pages, except they are used locally, on the resort intranet, not on the public Internet. Installation of Self Entry module is very similar to installation of E-Commerce module. Both use ww.dll and web.config files for configuration.
Like the E-Commerce pages, Self Entry pages can be customized or they can be re-written altogether to make their own calls to ww.dll. See the Salesware E-Commerce User Guide and the ww.dll API Reference for more information.
When a guest enters his information at a Self Entry station, an.se file (record) is written to the SE directory by ww.dll. A web.config variable (DataFilePath) specifies where the SE files are written. A Sales32c.INI setting (SelfEntryPath) is used to point salespoints to the SE directory.
