Binding DIN Charts

Binding DIN charts are used to calculate the release settings for a skier based on skier ability, height, weight, age, boot sole length and binding make and model. These charts are verified against the current binding chart per manufacturer each year in order to ensure the accuracy of the release settings. When creating or updating binding charts, the Valid Year specification must follow the naming convention of 2012-13.

In addition to release settings, toe and heel track settings may also be entered. Because toe and heel track settings may vary between binding models for the same manufacturer, toe and heel settings per model is entered. If the toe and heel settings are the same for all models within the same manufacturer, the model name can be left empty. This prompts the system to use the same set of toe and heel settings for all bindings from that manufacturer, regardless of the model.

The binding DIN chart manufacturers and models are assigned to pieces of rental equipment within SysManager > Activities > Rental Activities > Rental Inventory. Then, based on the equipment checked-out and the guest personal information, DIN, toe and heel track settings are calculated within the TechStationPC/PPC applications.
