Creating the Rental Contract item
 
1. Create an *UNLIMITED* equipment type and level.
2. Create a Rental Component item that uses the *UNLIMITED* type and level.
3. Create a Rental Contract item that is simply a Rental Package that uses the *UNLIMITED* Rental Component. This Contract item has the Rental Contract Text layout and is listed in Self Entry web.config as the DefaultDCI.
4. Specify a Time Span of 1 and also set the Return Time to the closing time of the shop (or whatever “time” the rentals are considered overdue if not returned) to establish the defaults that Sales uses when it processes these contract.
 
Note: If needed, there are variations to this contract configuration. The UNLIMITED component allows any rental item to be checked out. If the client wants some sort of control, for example, they want a SNOWBOARD contract vs. a SKI contract, you could create two different contract items with all the possible SKI components attached to the SKI contract, and all the possible SNOWBOARD components attached to the SNOWBOARD contract. The point of the Rental Contract is to allow easy checkout of whatever equipment the guest may want during that initial fit-up.
