The Resource Scheduling module provides an integrated calendar tool for the purpose of scheduling groups in a facility with capacity restrictions both on the facility and on the resources necessary to schedule a group event. Users can pick a prospective time for a group event, schedule the primary event, and then see the availability of the resources required for the event. If the resources necessary are not available, the primary event can be changed to an alternate date or time. The user can then schedule the resources and the group event directly in the calendar.
Events can be linked to products available for sale in the Sales interface. Those products can have monetary value (or not) and can be paid for in advance or at the time of the event. Billing is integrated into Salesware’s accounts receivable functionality.
Resources can be anything from a projector to a docent and each resource has an associated calendar. The user can browse individual resource calendars to look for open spots instead of starting with a particular event. A printed schedule is available for both resources and events. Resources can also be capacity restricted so that if you have more than one of something, you don’t have to create or maintain more than one calendar.
The end result is a dynamic calendar tool that can be used to provide management of groups, facilities and resources in a single integrated and intelligent interface.
