Validation : Access record auto-validation (access template) : Access template configuration basics : Starting Values tab

Starting Values tab

The SysManager > Activities > DCIs > New/Edit > Action tab > Create Access Record check box > Template button > Starting Values tab sets the initial values of the ticket at the time of sale. This includes values such as Access Product Is Valid dates, Total Uses, Points1, Points2, Money1 and Money2. The Total Uses, Points and Money fields can all be used to load value on the ticket; these are subsequently removed when the ticket is auto-validated. Any values configured on the Starting Values tab are stamped into the access record (ticket) at the time of sale and cannot be retroactively changed on existing access records by changing the configuration on the Starting Values tab for the access record DCI.

Note: See the Salesware Memberships and Passes document for information about the Discount Level spinner. See Unit value programs (validation with a DCI option) for information about the Unit Value check boxes.

Example:
An operator configures an item called 3 Day Entrance Ticket. The operator forgets to add 3 Total Uses to the Starting Values tab. Several hundred 3 Day Entrance tickets are sold before the operator realizes the configuration mistake. The operator edits the item and adds 3 total uses to the Starting Values tab, but this change only affects tickets that are sold after the change is saved. Existing 3 Day Entrance tickets do not have their total uses fields altered.
