Validation : Access record auto-validation (access template) : Access template configuration basics : Autosale Options tab

Autosale Options tab

The Autosale Options tab is used to specify what occurs when a ticket is scanned more than once in a single day (shift). This can be anywhere from performing all actions specified on the Auto Pass Validate and Auto Sales tabs each time the ticket is scanned in the same day (Don’t Use Shifts option), only the first time the ticket is scanned in the same day (Shift = 1 Day option) or somewhere in between by selecting specific values to change upon subsequent scans (Shift = 1 Day with different values selected in the Rules For Validating More Than Once Per Shift section). Any configuration on the Autosale Options tab affects all tickets with that DCI – both existing tickets and those yet to be sold.

Example:
A 3 out of 5 Day ticket has one use per day deducted. The operator selects the Shift = 1 Day option on the Autosale Options tab for the ticket. If the operator had selected Don’t Use Shifts, then the ticket would become invalid after 3 scans, not 3 days.

Note: If auto-selling items (especially those that have a price associated with them) with remote scanning applications such as GateKeeper and ScanMan, it is important to check the Do not AutoSale if pass is invalid when Trickle Validating check box. All off-line scans are assumed to be valid (the guest is given the benefit of the doubt). When the scanner is back on-line, the scans collected while off-line “trickle” into SalesEZ application for actual validation. Those passes and tickets scanned while off-line that were bad still record as successful validations in the data because the guests were allowed entrance. This means that any Auto Sales configured for the ticket normally also take place for invalid scans. In order to prevent the auto-sale for invalid trickled scans, check the box.
The following table provides a list of the “process” and “write” check boxes available on the bottom half of the Autosale Options tab along with descriptions of their functions. These are used to configure the exceptions when the Shift = 1 Day radio button is selected, providing a finer granularity of control with the Shift = 1 Day setting.
