• Pass Is Valid dates are blank – Time Span on General tab is set to 365 days in order to dynamically set the valid dates of the pass based on the start date assigned at the time of sale.

• Points1 is set to 10 (could alternatively use Total Uses, Points2, Money1 or Money2).

• Global Settings tab

• Blackout date range of 5/1/2013 through 5/14/2013 is entered.

• Appropriate pass layout is selected for functionality required of the pass (see Barcodes and magswipes).

• Sales Screen actions to execute when this item is validated – IGNOREERRORS()SELECTIVESPECIAL(“RETAILBOOK”)

• Check for Void and Date Range is selected from the dropdown.

• Auto Pass Validate tab

• Nothing is configured on this tab because there are no values to be deducted when the pass is scanned with the symbol scanner. The ten “free family and friend” tickets are redeemed when an operator first adds an item to a sale, and then enters the member pass number for authorization (validation with a DCI process).

• Auto Sales tab

• Operator selects an item called Membership Use in the first row of dropdown DCI boxes. The Membership Use item is a $0 item configured with 1 admission that is auto-sold each day a member pass is scanned.

• Auto Sales Options tab

• Operator selects Shift = 1 Day because a member pass may be scanned more than once in a single day and the museum only wants the Membership Use item to be auto-sold once per day per member pass used.

• Write Use Logs is checked in order to record scan activity each time a member pass is scanned even if values are not deducted or items are not auto-sold with subsequent scans of the same pass in the same day.

• Item Discounts tab – nothing

• Remote Validation tab – nothing

• Debitware – nothing
