Validation with a DCI involves the process of authorizing the sale or discount of an item (validation product) with a pass record. It also includes the concept of reward programs where pass holders may accumulate points/uses to be redeemed once enough value is accumulated. This type of validation occurs in Sales and always begins with the operator adding an item (validation products) to a sale, and then using the pass record to authorize the purchase or application of a discount. The configuration of these types of programs occurs within the Validation Template located on the Action tab of an item (SysManager > Activities > DCIs > New/Edit > Action tab > Validation section > Template button).
