Private Instruction : Private Instruction module setup : Private Instruction products : Specify product as a Private Instruction product

Specify product as a Private Instruction product

To specify the product as a Private Instruction product:
1. On the Action tab on the Item dialog, click Begin Private Booking.
2. Click the Action Specifics button and the Lessons to Book dialog is displayed.
3. On the General tab, enter a twenty-five character-or-less Description for this booking.

Note: This description represents this booking in the schedule and prints on the voucher for the guest. You may want this description to be different than the item description for the booking product because the product description may contain information that is cryptic to the customer or to the booking operator. It is best to keep this description short so the most meaning can be conveyed on the booking bar in the schedule.

4. Set the number of Additional bookings required per line item quantity if this item is a series booking.
5. Use the dropdown menu to select a Lesson Type (see Entering lesson types) to this product.
6. Enter the Span of time of the booking in minutes.

Note: Bookings default to this length and cannot be less than the span entered here. If Allow adjustment by dragging is checked, bookings can be dragged to exceed this length when booked.

Note: The minimum length of a booking that can be booked in SysManager or Sales is fifteen minutes. Set your Span to be at least this length.

7. Check Allow adjustment by dragging if you want the operator to be able to alter the booking span during booking.

Note: If you do not click this box, the booking is forced to be the length defined in the Span field.

8. Check Enforce Restricted Start Times if you would like the Start Times you enter to be enforced at the point of scheduling.

Note: If this is not checked, the bookings jump to those Start Times (the nearest one where you click), but can be moved. Allows you to either guide the seller regarding Start Times or force the seller to use the Start Times defined.

9. Select allowable Start Times for this booking.

Note: A flexible booking product can be defined that can be manually adjusted by the operator at the salespoint. For example, the product could have a default time Span of an hour, allow adjustment by dragging and have no restricted Start Time. This allows a product to be created on the fly, sold and scheduled. Direct pricing can be used to allow the price to be defined at the salespoint.
