RentEZ installation
RentEZ application is installed on the Rentals server. The Rentals server may or may not be combined with the web server. RentEZ is installed using the Install_Siriusware_PoolService_xxxx.msi installer. For information on how to use this installer, see the Salesware Installation Guide. The following steps provide a quick summary.
RentEZ application looks to server data instead of local copies of synchronized data. All rental history is available and all forms are re-printable for all of the site history, including signatures if present. The drawback to using server data is that there is no way for RentEZ to be able to operate in an off-line mode. A connection to the database is required for all rental transactions and for TechStation operations.
Note: As of version 4.3.02, FileSync application is no longer used in conjunction with Rentals module. After weighing the many pros and cons of the change, it was decided that the drawback of an on-line only system was worth eliminating the problems incurred with FileSync application.
To install RentEZ:
1. Copy the file RentEZ42_xxxx.exe to the updates folder.
2. Ensure this computer has a static IP address. Note it.
3. Run Install_Siriusware_CommonFiles_xxxx.msi.
4. Run Install_Siriusware_PoolService_xxxx.msi.
e. Unselect SalesEZ and select RentEZ.
f. Enter the static IP address assigned to this computer.
g. Enter the SQL server name containing the SiriusSQL database.
5. Start the application by executing the shortcut.
