TechStationPPC installation
TechStationPPC module currently works on the 9090 handheld. Installation is very similar to installation for ScanMan module described in the Salesware Access Control document.
To install TechStationPPC module:
2. With the 9090 scanner in the cradle, use Explorer on ActiveSync and navigate to the \Application folder.
3. Create a folder named TechStationPPC (i.e., \Application\TechStationPPC).
4. Create a folder named Cache as a sub-folder of TechStationPPC (i.e., \Application\TechStationPPC\Cache).
5. Create a folder on the desktop and unzip the file c_techstationppc_9090_xxxx.zip into that folder.
6. Open the Tech.INI file in Notepad and modify it to match your system settings:
IP=192.168.0.4
(This is the IP address of the computer where RentEZ application is running.)
Port=4207
(Leave this unchanged.)
Unit=Main1
(This is the name of the unit - maximum six characters.)
Timeout=30
(Default 30 [=3 seconds]. Recommended 60. The unit is disconnected from RentEZ application when timeout is met.)
Log=5
(Change to 0. Level 5 is for full log for troubleshooting when needed.)
Reset=30
(TechStationPPC returns to the log-in page after 30 second idle. Set to 0 to disable the reset.)
7. Modify the tech.run file (from Notepad) so that the path reads: \Application\TechStationPPC\Launch.exe
8. Copy the following files from the desktop to \Application\TechStationPPC\:

Tech.INI
Launch.exe
Launch.bmp
Launch.nam
atl80.dll
MFC80U.DLL
msvcr80.dll
9. Copy the following file into \Application\Startup:
Tech.run
(this brings up the launch program whenever the unit is warm booted)
10. Warm boot the unit.
11. TechStationPPC module is launched when the unit is back. Tap on the screen to start with log-in page.
