Siriusware configuration:
The SQL server and the middleware (PoolManager) should be installed at the same physical location that is central and reliable. The SQL Server and middleware components should be connected to each other on a fast LAN connection.
Salespoints can be run remotely – they have fairly low bandwidth requirements. Other Siriusware applications (SysManager, ReportManager, etc.) have higher bandwidth requirements. Instead of running these over the WAN, we recommend that you use a remote desktop service to run these applications at the central site on the LAN.
Configuration changes requiring data updates to Sales can take significant bandwidth and be slow, so we highly recommend the use of the DeferSalesDataUpdates .INI setting. This makes startup faster.
To improve performance we recommend a local layouts and updates folder at each site. This prevents these large files from being transferred across the WAN. The paths in the appropriate .INI files need adjusted to reflect the local file location at each site.
