Validation : Supplemental information : How to… guide for unit value programs : Program configuration : Notes

Notes

If a guest has more than one unit value card, the validation cascades until enough points are found on one pass record to complete the sale (assuming validation is done with a card number, or if pass numbers are used cascading Validation with a DCI is turned on). For instance, a guest has two cards, the first with one point and the second with three points. If the guest purchases a single item that requires two points, the first card is skipped because there are not enough total points and instead the second card is validated. Multiple validations cannot occur across multiple pass records in the same sale (deducting a single point from the first pass record and a single point from the second pass record in this scenario is not an option).
All sales and validations of unit value products are recorded in the unitvalu table.

The 4.3 version appropriately updates the unitvalu table when either a card or pass number is used for validation.
A report can be generated that shows remaining points on unit value card for expired passes. ReportManager > Pass Reports > Remaining Unit Values.
At the end of this report the operator is prompted to reset expired pass points to 0.

If using specials to track both the redemption and loading of unit value cards, run the Special Performance Report to get numbers on overall program activity.
