Set default attributes for product
 
The default attributes for a product are used only if you want to force certain instructors to be included or excluded from the instructor list in Sales based on what product you are selling.
 
Example:
Say you have only one instructor who can teach cliff-jumping. When you sell that product, no matter what the guest prefers, this instructor and no others must show up. You would need to associate this user-defined preference field with the cliff-jumping product and make that preference required.
 
For the product attributes on the Auto-Set Prefs tab, you can determine whether they do not apply, are preferred or are required settings using the blank, Pref and Req radio buttons. A field becomes active only if the preference is either preferred or required. If it does not matter, the field remains inactive and is greyed out. Instructors that match any preferred settings here are included in the instructor list when this product is sold, appearing before those instructors who do not match the preferred setting. Instructors that match any required settings appear in the list and those that do not match are filtered out of the list.
 
Note: Before entries can be made in this tab, labels for the user-defined fields are set in the SysManager > Preferences > Private Booking > Captions tab.
 
Note: If these attributes are set to req, they supersede the guest preferences and the guest’s Level, unless the item’s Level is blank/empty, and then the guest’s Level supersedes.
 
To set the default attributes for a private booking product:
1. On the Action tab on the Item dialog, click Begin Private Booking.
2. Click the Action Specifics button and the Lessons to Book dialog is displayed.
3. On the Auto-Set Prefs tab, enter a default User Def Group to indicate which group of instructors the instructor list is limited to for this product.
 
Note: This field can be used to assign a default instructor group such as day care, children’s programs, alpine or snowboard. This grouping is used to filter the instructor list.
 
4. Select the preferred instructor from the Prefer dropdown menu.
5. Use the dropdown box to select the default start time for the booking product (Pref defaults it, Req forces it to this time).
6. Select whether this product defaults to Female or Male when sold (or whether only Female or Male instructors are included, and then use Req).
7. Use the dropdown box to select the default value for List 1 for this booking product (or the value by which to filter the instructor list).
 
Note: These values and the label for List 1 are defined on the SysManager > Preferences > Private Bookings > Captions tab.
 
8. Select the type of lesson (Alpine, Snowboard, Telemark, Other) by which to sort or filter the instructor list.
9. Enter a Level by which to sort or filter the instructor list.
10. Select any check boxes by which you would like to sort or filter the instructor list for this product.
 
Note: In order to label these fields, go to the SysManager > Preferences > Private Bookings > Captions tab.
 
11. Select the Instr. Base, if a preference is required.
12. Enter values in the two user-defined numeric fields if you would like to sort or filter the instructor list for this product by these values.
13. Use the dropdown box to select the default value for List 2 for this booking product (or the value by which to filter the instructor list).
14. Use the dropdown box to select the default value for List 3 for this booking product (or the value by which to filter the instructor list).
15. Enter a value for the Experience level by which to sort or filter the instructor list.
16. Click the Save button to save the record.
