Group settings: defining a group and its settings

Groups and settings for that group can be defined for Sales in the Global Salespoint INI tab by creating a section with a user-defined group name that is then specified at each salespoint in that group. The salespoint knows which group it is in via the group .INI setting (see Group settings: specifying a group at the salespoint).

Example:
If you would like all your Retail salespoints to share some of the same settings, you might assign those salespoints a group name of retail and insert a section as follows:

<retail>
pickwidth=0
</retail>

Any settings that are unique and consistent within that group are placed in this section between the tags. These settings override the global default settings and apply only to salespoints that have been assigned to that group (see Group settings: specifying a group at the salespoint). Group settings cannot override local settings. The local level (Sales32c.INI file at the salespoint in the Sales folder) has priority over the group level (Sales32c_group.INI file at the salespoint in the Sales folder) as well the global level (Sales32c_default.INI file at the salespoint in the Sales folder). The group level has priority over the global level if the setting is not included in the local level.

By default, the following groups with common .INI settings for each group are included under the Global Salespoint INI tab when you install SysManager, and you have the option of assigning any of these group names to a salespoint from the Sales installer when you install Sales:
Bar
Cafeteria
Golf
Retail
